Made in England
This is a Stanley “Bailey” No. 3 Plane probably a Type 17. I believe this included a composition handle and tall front knob with steel nuts at the top, not brass. It does not have a patent date on the body but it does include “Bailey” behind the front knob and “Made in England” behind the frog.
The lever cap is chrome plated and has the pear or kidney shaped hole and STANLEY with the orange paint behind it.
It has the ring in the casting beneath the front knob and the raised area beneath the handle.
It has the ogee shaped frog with a 1 1/4″ steel knurled adjustment knob. It also has the lateral adjustment lever with the vertical “STANLEY” on the lever.
